And the design strategy chosen for today’s post is…….. The “Wrapper Strategy”

We will start our journey with a building designed by the spiritual father…. The Inspiration Source for all his followers…… Rem Koolhaas

The next two images are Rem Koolhaas/OMA’s Television Cultural Centre in Beijing – CHINA, (1st prize in a Competition from 2002)…. Construction began 2005.
This is the model of the internal part of the building, showing Rem Koolhaas’s “Wrapper Strategy” the Inside is an accumulation of structurally independent volumes

And This Is an External Image of the Television Cultural Centre building, showing the “Wrapper Strategy”
Continuous skin encompasses this assemblage, the walls become the roof and the roof transforms back into the walls.

We will continue our journey with a building designed by Rem Koolhaas and Joshua Prince-Ramus (Rex) – OMA/LMN
The next three images are Rem Koolhaas/OMA’s and Joshua Prince-Ramus (Rex) Seattle Central Library opened to the public, 2004

The next image is the interior space of the Seattle Central Library The Library is covered by a glass shell. Natural day light penetrates through geometric openings in the exterior shell, creating lit spaces for reading”

And here is another example …. REX’s and OMA’s Wyly Theatre in Dallas, Texas published in arc space.com 2005 – Completed in 2009
