Here is the short story of a brilliant architecture firm, DCPP Arquitectos, that are not intimidated to be inspired from “relevant buildings”.

First let’s see what were the “relevant buildings”, that were DCPP Arquitectos’s inspiration sources, when designing the Green Tower.

 For you to judge….

These days it’s Trendy to speak about sustainable architecture – or in its more familiar name ….GREEN buildings.

Some of the GREEN buildings put a “green button” on their facades….Combine energy-guzzling expensive machines doing miracles and wonders with waste, water, etc.

Other buildings…….. like the GREEN Tower proposed for Lima, Peru, by Mexican studio DCPP Arquitectos choose to deal with the challenge of designing a green building, using “conservative” design strategies inspired by Le Corbusier.

You are invited to visit my post  and learn more about Le Corbusier’s ”grille climatique“. (A climate systematic analysis he developed in the 50s)

Here are some of le Corbusier’s sketches representing his “conservative” design- strategies principles, to design GREEN buildings.

The sketches were made from 1950 to 1965  for Chandigarh, India.

The Original sketches are from the FONDATION LE CORBUSIER

Are Le Corbusier’s Green Buildings strategy, the inspiration sources for DCPP Arquitectos’s  Green Tower?

 for you to judge

This is Le corbusier’s sketch showing his GREEN buildings strategy

Notice the cross ventilation that becomes possible because of the horizontal openings in the building envelope

See the next image…. And this is how DCPP Arquitectos do it in the GREEN Tower

Notice the large horizontal openings that Allow cross ventilation

And this is Le corbusier’s second sketch showing his GREEN buildings strategy

Notice the Open spaces surrounding the building with vegetation.

See the next image…. And this is how DCPP Arquitectos do it in the GREEN Tower.

Notice the exterior spaces surrounding the building with vegetation and water.

And this is Le corbusier’s third sketch showing his GREEN buildings strategy

Notice the Openings in the building envelope to Improve crossing  air movement

“Conscious Inspiration” the ultimate inspiration methodology

I invite you all to contribute in developing the attitude and tools towards the viability of the “Conscious Inspiration” Method.

The abundance of information in the Web affects us all, as I illustrate in my posts.

I Believe that designing is a process formed from three main phases:  knowledge, tools and invention.

Knowledge”:  as many said, and wrote before – Knowledge is the foundation for all designing processWe architects and designers are obliged to be informed about everything that was designed in the past and on a daily basis….

“Tools”:  develop tools to analyze buildings and “Understand” them,  tools that will cope with the abundance of architectural information…

(I intend to demonstrate some of my ideas in future posts)

“Invention”:  with the methodology of “conscious Inspiration” we don’t need to be intimidated to get inspired from relevant buildings.  Once we develop our tools, it will lead us to high quality and creative architecture.
