December 2010 Architect Frank Gehry has unveiled his designs for a new business school (Dr. Chau Chak Wing Building) at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia
–
In this post Gehry’s share with us his Inspiration sources and design process, how he comes up with among the most distinctive building designs in the world?

Here are some of Gehry’s Quotes from the officially introduction of the new Dr Chau Chak Wing Building business school at the University of Technology Sydney:
–
1.“Fundamentally, , it starts with a response to the brief. The client in this case wanted something that would break down the silos typical in a university and stimulate high levels of interaction, creativity and play”
2.“I met with the dean and his faculty and the brief was that the business school needed to open up to the creative processes a bit more and open themselves up to creative thinking.”
3.“You sense the need for creative play is human and we need it and we yearn for it.”
4.”My own creativity depends absolutely on the ability for “child like play”.
5.“My response to the brief was a “treehouse” design analogy – various platforms at different levels, connected by branches and open spaces in between”

I really enjoy this blog and without meaning to be intrusive, I came across some dialogues myself and would like to share them. Maybe you’ll be able to put them to good use. Just check out:

Accept my apologies for the late response
I was glad to learn from the examples you sent….
Last year I presented in my blog numerous examples
which demonstrate that inspiration sources of talented architects
are actually built buildings. (I would rather not call it “style” or “copy- paste”)
Currently I am developing a new method to teach architecture.
I Name it the “conscious Inspiration Method”
If interested…. for more info, feel free to enter my blog
I’d love to know what you think
i like that
Thanks….
