Origami from ori meaning “folding“, and kami meaning “paper”; kami changes to gami due to rendaku is the traditional Japanese folk art of paper folding, which started in the 17th century AD and was popularized in the mid-1900s. It has since then evolved into a modern art form. The goal of this art is to transform a flat sheet of material into a finished sculpture through folding and sculpting techniques, and as such the use of cuts or glue are not considered to be origami.

I’m glad to see “non cultural” referencies/sources here.
Herzog & DeMeron have also creased paper inspired façade etc.
“non cultural” sources such as nature, paper, cigarette end, any phenonmenon etc. are a powerfull tool for architect.
“cultural sources” aren’t just other buildings, heritage, it can be pictures/painting, movies… The way architects creat sequences is very cinematographical.
It would be nice to have a post here comparing sequences !

Thanks for your elaborate comment
I agree, “Cultural sources” aren’t just other buildings
In my blog I try to find out what are the architects contemporary
sources of inspiration.
It turns out that architects around the world are inspired mainly by
abundance of architectural information, available online.
It seams that it worked in a similar way for Frank Lloyd Wright,
Louis Kahn and Le Corbusier and Other grate Architects.
Please visit recent post of mine, where I described architectural trends today.
“Conscious Inspiration“method is my vision to deal with our contemporary reality .
We don’t need to be intimidated to get inspired from relevant buildings,. Once we develop tools to understand them.
Once more…. thank you Fran, your comments are very welcome.

I have been previously exploring on-line greater than 3 several hours not too long ago, however My partner and i in no way found out virtually any intriguing document just like the one you have. It is really beautiful price tag plenty of to me. Individually, when many online marketers plus blog writers made outstanding information since you did, the online world is often a great deal more practical than any other time.
