On one of my visits to Europe, I purchased a booklet documenting systematically, all of  Le Corbusier’s  projects

The booklet is written in German and translated into French

Published by STUDIO PAPERBACK in 1972, The booklet was edited by Willy Boesiger von Herausgegeben

In the back of the booklet is told, that Le Corbusier expressed his desire in 1960 that his works will be published in a booklet at popular prices, so everyone can purchase it

It is no secret that I am a fan of Le Corbusier

Le Corbusier is undoubtedly  the most influential architect (inspiration source) over the past century

Almost 50 years after his death, he remains an important source of inspiration for  leading architects today

When comparing the number of online searches  of Le Corbusier , to leading architects today, Le Corbusier leads by far

In this post I’ll demonstrate Le Corbusier‘s important role ,as a main source of inspiration, for generations of architect

Here is a large number of posts  I posted over the years, that show it

for you to judge

Enjoy

Le Corbusier…. Do we need more evidence that he is the most significant source of inspiration for architects, in the last   century

Le Corbusier Vis Zaha Hadid…. and “Google Trends” is always right

From Eliinbar’s Sketch book 2012 -Le corbusier’s “Geometry” strategy

Let’s find out what was le Corbusier’s message, when he wrote in his book “Towards an Architecture” in 1923

Today’s architects are concerned from the geometric components of buildings surfaces. The great problems of the modern building age will be resolved by the “Geometry”.

This Is Le Corbusier’s  La Tourette Monastery designed and built 1953-1957

Is this building designed according to Le Corbusier’s “Geometry” strategy?

La Tourette Monastery

  Lyon  France 1953-1957

What is certain ….This building was and will be a source of inspiration for many generations of architects still to come….

See the following sketch … Le Corbusier’s  La Tourette Monastery is on the left

And this Is Zaha Hadid’s MAXXI Museum in Rome ….. Most likely this is not a building designed according to Le Corbusier’s “Geometry” strategy

This building is undoubtedly the inspiration source of a large number of

Buildings designed these days….

So what do you think?

Who is the preferred choice for inspiration to architects today?

Zaha Hadid or Le Corbusier?

The truth is hard to answer….

For that invented Google…. the “Google Trends”

 –

Google Trends  is a” Tool” to compare the world’s interest in different topics. You can see how often the topics you are interested searched on Google over time.

This is a “Google Trends” graph that compares the world’s interest in Zaha Hadid and Le Corbusier.

At least ….according to “Google Trends” Le Corbusier (in Red) takes it all….

Zaha Hadid and BMW’s new 7 Series 2012 tail light

Posted in public buildings with tags , , , , , , , , , , , on July 25, 2012 by eliinbar

It seems that “Conscious Iinspiration” is everywhere….

You have noticed already that lately I’m more aware to the car industry.

Here is an interesting example that I can’t explain,  apart from the possibility that this is another good example of “Conscious inspiration”.

We saw already, in my previous post, that architects are inspired from the fashion world, and that fashion is inspired from architecture….

Is it possible that car designers are inspired by a famous building?

Well look at this example…. For you to judge

This is the interior image of the maxxi-museum galleries in Rome designed by Zaha Hadid.

Notice the dominant pattern of the continuous parallel and curved shape ceiling.

The Zaha Hadid ‘s MAXXI Museum in Rome is one of the most popular buildings in the Web (if you check Google trends) it was designed and built from1999 to 2009

And this is a close look to BMW’s new 7 Series 2012 tail light

Do you notice the similarity between the flowing parallel lines characterizing the ceiling of the MAXXI museum  ,and the tail light of BMW new 7 Series?

Eliinbar’s Sketches 2012– Zaha Hadid and the inspirational “Continuous fluid movement motif”

Actually it is not really surprising to identify distinctive characteristics in the cars industry, inspired from architecture.

Who said “Conscious Inspiration” is Limited only to Architecture ?….
